Resident doctor strike: 14–19 November

From Friday 14 to Wednesday 19 November, resident doctors (formerly known as junior doctors) will be taking strike action.

This will have a significant impact on services across our hospitals, particularly as our teams are currently adjusting to a new way of working following the  introduction of our electronic patient record.

Syed wins our You Made a Difference Award

Syed Asif Ali, Associate Specialist in Trauma and Orthopaedic at Queen’s Hospital, was our recent winner of our You Made a Difference Award.

Syed was nominated by Manjeet Dosanjh, an administrative officer, for the care he gave their son while he was a patient at Queen’s Hospital.

In the nomination, Manjeet said: “The pain my son was suffering was becoming unbearable, but no other doctor was able to find an issue with his ankle, until Mr Ali performed a thorough investigation. From his expertise, he was able to refer my son to Stanmore Hospital. They specialise in limb construction.”

“If Mr Ali hadn't gone the extra mile to help my son, then I don't know where we would be right now.”

“Mr Ali deserves immense thanks and appreciation. Thank you so much for your excellent care and exceptional professional abilities”.

If you know someone who has really made a difference in our hospitals, then nominated them for our monthly You Made a Difference Award. More information and the nomination form can be found on our website.
