Resident doctor strike (25–30 July)

From Friday 25 to Wednesday 30 July, resident doctors (formally known as junior doctors) will be taking strike action. During this time, our services will be under increased pressure.

Some outpatient appointments and non-urgent surgeries have had to be rearranged.

  • If your appointment is affected, we will contact you directly.
  • If you do not hear from us, please attend your appointment as planned.

Statement from our interim Chief Executive regarding the sad death of one of our patients

Tony Chambers

Tony Chambers, interim Chief Executive, Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust said:

“We can confirm that a patient, who was in her sixties, and who tested positive for COVID-19 has sadly died at Queen's hospital. She had been very unwell with significant other health conditions. 

“Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family at what is undoubtedly a very distressing time.

“We ask that the family’s privacy is respected”.
