Queen’s Hospital midwives deliver 22 babies on 22nd day of second month in 2022

The Maternity Department at Queen’s Hospital had a remarkable day on Tuesday 22 February – with 22 babies born on the significant date.

Imogen Peter, 25, even had daughter Aurora (pictured above) in the 22nd hour of the day, and missed out on a birth time of 22.22 when she arrived just three minutes before at 22.19.

Imogen, who lives in Romford with partner Joe Copley, said: “Twenty-two is definitely our lucky number now! She was due on 21 February and I was brought in on 19 February to be induced and ended up having a c-section.

“As I’d been in for a few days, the significance of the date passed me by until afterwards. All my family and even the midwives were all pointing it out to me though, how special her birthday would be. She’s our first baby so it is very special. I thought it was weird when I heard 22 babies were born on that day too!”

Now Imogen, who praised our Maternity team for looking after her so well, is excited to get home with her new baby.
