Resident doctor strike (25–30 July)

From Friday 25 to Wednesday 30 July, resident doctors (formally known as junior doctors) will be taking strike action. During this time, our services will be under increased pressure.

Appointments and planned care

Some outpatient appointments and non-urgent surgeries have had to be rearranged.

  • If your appointment is affected, we will contact you directly.
  • If you do not hear from us, please attend your appointment as planned.

Keeping our patients safe - our Chief Medical Officer shares her experience of telephone appointments

We're changing face-to-face appointments to telephone consultations where possible to keep our patients and staff safe.

Our Chief Medical Officer, and consultant gastroenterologist, Magda Smith, held her first telephone clinic this week, and found patients were really pleased we were offering this. Many were also relieved not to have to come into our hospitals, especially those who are elderly and vulnerable.
