Resident doctor strike (25–30 July)

From Friday 25 to Wednesday 30 July, resident doctors (formally known as junior doctors) will be taking strike action. During this time, our services will be under increased pressure.

Getting the right care

Please help us make sure emergency care is available for those who need it most:

Appointments and planned care

Some outpatient appointments and non-urgent surgeries have had to be rearranged.

  • If your appointment is affected, we will contact you directly.
  • If you do not hear from us, please attend your appointment as planned.

Additional support for our patients and staff

Our chaplains Alison and Grace

We know our temporary visitor restrictions can be difficult for our patients, who may be feeling lonely and missing having their loved ones around.

That’s why our Chaplaincy team is offering more support to speak to those who may need some additional support, or just a chat.

They are sharing their contact details on our wards which staff can give to patients who could benefit from having someone to talk to. They can then call our chaplains directly from the ward.

Our chaplains are also supporting our staff, offering a listening ear wherever it’s needed.

They are reducing face-to-face meetings where possible, providing support on the phone instead, however, this does not apply to end of life patients, or in exceptional circumstances.
