New frailty unit opens at Queen’s Hospital to offer specialised care for elderly, vulnerable patients – helping to reduce ED wait times for everyone

From today (Monday 17 May), those aged over 75 and not in need immediate emergency care will be taken to a frailty unit at Queen’s Hospital, bypassing the traditional Emergency Department (ED) route in an effort to provide the specialist care they need and reduce wait times for all our ED patients

Advanced Care Practitioners join King George Hospital bringing additional clinical expertise

As we look ahead to brighter days in our recovery from Covid-19, we are continuing to restart many of our services, including planned surgeries at King George Hospital. To compliment this service, three advanced care practitioners (ACPs) have joined the team to treat, assess, examine and prescribe to our patients.
