Our network chairs have joined our People and Culture Committee

Our staff networks are there for everyone to discuss how we can make our hospitals fairer places to work and receive care. They are also a safe and supportive space for staff. To ensure that conversations from network meetings help shape our hospitals, our network chairs are now part of our people and culture committee, which reports into our Trust board.

Wellbeing guardians will champion staff wellbeing at our Trust Board

We’re delighted that Caroline Roberts (pictured left) and Sandy Malone (pictured right) have been appointed as associate non-executive directors and, as part of their role, will be wellbeing guardians for our Trust Board. They are also both part of our People and Culture Committee, which reports to our Board. As wellbeing guardians, they will ensure that wellbeing is at the heart of what we do, link in with our Wellbeing team to understand important issues, and challenge the Board to always consider the impact of decisions on the health and wellbeing of staff.

Closer collaboration between BHRUT and the Barts Health group

The pandemic brought NHS organisations and partners across north east London more closely together than ever before in responding to Covid, for the benefit of our patients and residents. In particular, BHRUT worked closely with the Barts Health group to co-ordinate care for critically-ill Covid patients and those with urgent and emergency needs, including transfers between hospitals.
