We are trialing an app which allows our post-stroke patients to test themselves at home for atrial fibrillation (AF), a heart condition that causes an irregular and abnormally fast heart rate.

An art exhibition sharing the creative work of people with Parkinson’s will take place at the OXO Gallery this month and one of our patients, Paul Nicholls, will be showcasing his creations.

To mark World Breastfeeding Week (Sunday 1 August to Saturday 7 August) a new mural celebrating breastfeeding is on display at Queen’s Hospital, near our Maternity department. The artwork, which was the idea of midwife, Amy Macatonia (pictured), and designed with the help of her brother, features some of our patients and midwives breastfeeding, alongside information on where to get support.

Colleen Sanderson, a biomedical scientist at our Trust, had an emotional meeting with 16-week-old baby Grace, whose life she helped save earlier this year. With grateful mum Angela Burgess telling her: “You made my family.”
