Resident doctor strike (25–30 July)

From Friday 25 to Wednesday 30 July, resident doctors (formally known as junior doctors) will be taking strike action. During this time, our services will be under increased pressure.

Rachael wins our You Made a Difference Award for her compassion towards patients and their families

Rachael Lewis

Rachael Lewis was the recent winner of our You Made a Difference Award after being put forward by patient partner Sara Turle. Rachael, who has just moved into a new role as a discharge coordinator, was nominated for her work as a healthcare assistant on our Sunflower Suite. Sara wanted Rachael to be recognised for the compassion she shows for her patients and their loved ones.

In Conversation With...Fawad Hussain

This week spoke to Fawad Hussain, a dermatology consultant who recently took on a new role in our Trust, as Site Medical Director at King George Hospital.

Age: 40

Lives: In Hornchurch with his wife and two sons aged six and two-months-old.

And: Medicine was certainly in his genes – his father and three older siblings all went into medicine before him. And his wife is a GP.
