Our Maternity team launches series of antenatal education videos

Midwife Naima talking to camera for one of the videos

Our Maternity team has launched a series of antenatal education videos for women and their partners and families.

The videos feature midwives, consultants and anaesthetists discussing topics such as signs of labour, pain relief during labour, and birthing positions.

Director of Midwifery, Sue Lovell, said: “We started creating the videos when face-to-face antenatal classes were cancelled due to Covid-19. Now we are slowly restarting face-to-face antenatal education, and we hope these videos will complement the sessions women and their birth partners attend.

“As the videos are on YouTube, women can watch them in the comfort of their own homes, at a time which suits them, and they can rewatch the videos as many times as needed.”

The videos are available to watch on YouTube.
