King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity is launching a fundraising campaign next month, encouraging people to ‘Donate in December’ as no matter how small, all donations can make a difference. Our charity needs support more than ever this Christmas, as like most other charitable organisations, fundraising during the pandemic has been difficult, with many of the usual ways to raise money off the table due to Covid-19 restrictions, and events cancelled or postponed.

Head of Fundraising, Lynda Head said: “Even though the clapping has stopped, the vital work of the NHS goes on.

“As a charity, we want to ensure the good work we do continues; such as providing iPads for patients to keep in touch with their loved ones, bravery presents for our young patients, and care packages to help those admitted to hospital unexpectedly.

“The role you play in helping us to do this is absolutely vital. We appreciate how hard our communities have been hit during the pandemic, which makes your on-going support even more valuable. Please donate whatever you can as even the smallest amount can really help.”

It's simple to help – on Tuesday 1 December, when the new fundraising campaign goes live, visit www.justgiving.com/campaign/donate-in-december (the link won’t work until the campaign launches) to make a donation.

To support us even more, you could also set up your own JustGiving fundraising page and link it to the campaign. Then you could raise money by getting active – doing a sponsored walk, run or bike ride, have a clear out and sell your stuff or even shave your head. There are lots of fun and interesting ways to fundraise, just remember you must follow Government guidance to keep yourself safe.
