Local banks teamed up with our charity to raise £3,000

Our charity has received a fundraising boost thanks to support from three local banks.

The branches of NatWest, Halifax and Barclays banks, in South Street, Romford, teamed up with our charity, which funds improvements to both our hospitals, raising almost £3,000 in donations from local people, topped up with money from the banks.

Stalls were held at each bank branch, including information about the charity, a tombola for a £1 donation, and refreshments. Children were also entertained by an appearance from Iron Man, thanks to Martino Neto, from Halifax, who donned the costume and posed for pictures.

Grant Thomas, who manages the Romford Town Centre NatWest branch, said: “It was great to be able to support the King George and Queen’s Hospitals Charity. We were proud to host the charity and help to build awareness and support for this worthwhile cause which supports so many people who depend on our local hospitals.

“We’re looking forward to continuing to support the charity throughout the year, working closely together for our local community.”
