Do you know where to get the care you need for you or a loved one?

stay well this winter logoWould you know what to do if you, or a loved one, became poorly over the weekend and needed urgent medical advice?

There are lots of options available to you. Your local pharmacist can offer advice and your GP should always be your first port of call for persistent illnesses which cannot be treated over the counter. Many GP surgeries now offer extended opening hours, and appointments outside working hours. And did you know, if you’re registered with a local GP you can book an out-of-hours appointment in a GP hub? Appointments are available until 10pm weeknights and until 8pm on the weekend. Call 020 3770 1888 to book your appointment. Perfect for if you can’t get to see your own doctor straight away.

If you need urgent medical advice but you’re not sure where you should go, call NHS 111 which is open 24/7. If you do need to see someone face-to-face, they can even book your appointment for you in the right place to get the care you need.

This is one of the busiest times of the year for our hospitals, so it’s really important you do your bit by getting the care you need in the right place, allowing us to focus on patients with life-threatening conditions. Remember, A&E is for emergencies only.

Find out more about the options available to you on our get the right care for you page.
