Connected Care comes to BHRUT

We are delighted to have launched Connected Care, working together with our healthcare partners to provide faster care for patients.

Connected Care will make patient information easily available for frontline clinicians using our existing patient records system, meaning less time will be spent waiting for files and records.

Devesh Sinha, our Chief Clinical Information Officer, said: “When patients come into the care of our hospitals, they come with the expectation that the right information about them is available for clinicians like me, nurses, therapists, and our pharmacists.

“So I think what we're trying to do here is what is always meant to be done: that very simple but essential information about the patient, like allergies, their medications, and their clinical information, is available to those caring for them.”

This new way of working will ensure patients receive the best treatment possible and it will also speed up how we are able to care for them.

Devesh added: “Patients will receive safe care more quickly, because we have the critical information available to us.

“From a staff point of view we will no longer need to waste the time chasing the information. It will be available on the front door to us.

“It will also speed up the care, because discharges which happen in the hospital, sometimes they are dependent upon the care and the information, which we now have in hand.”

With patients increasingly being cared for by different trusts and organisations that offer specialist treatment, this will see us working more closely with our partners.

Devesh said: “It’s essential we have this practice in place working together with our partners in northeast London and the wider area.”
