Five student radiographers from our Trust, Barts Health, and Homerton Healthcare have graduated as the first cohort from the North East London Imaging Academy after nine months of training.

The collaborative project helps students at our trusts to strengthen their skills in MRI, CT and plain film imaging, which in turn develops our workforce and improves patient care.

The graduation ceremony featured the classic cap-tossing moment, and our Chief Executive Matthew Trainer presented certificates to the graduates.

Matthew said: “We’re really proud of the students for graduating from the NEL Imaging Academy and I’m pleased we’re able to offer training like this to develop our own staff and their careers, and to improve the care we provide for our patients.”

Natalie Onofua, one of the graduates who works at Homerton, highlighted the excellent support from tutors and the learning material.

Natalie said: “The imaging academy has helped me to feel more confident in my work and I’ve learned so much from it. It’s supplemented the skills I’ve developed at Homerton and linked theory and practice to enhance my skills as a radiographer.”

A huge congratulations to all our graduates!
