Our fabulous Maternity team get their starring moment on tonight’s episode of the MTV Teen Mom spin off show, Young and Pregnant UK!

One of the four young mums features in the series is Alisha (pictured top), who gave birth to her baby girl earlier this year at Queen’s Hospital.

Among the stars of tonight’s episode will be Rhiannon Young (above), our midwife who delivered Alisha’s baby – as well as dealt with the family tension between Alisha’s mum and husband!

Rhiannon (pictured below), who qualified as a midwife last October and joined our Trust straight away, bonded with Alisha over being a young mum herself, having given birth to daughter Cerys, now nine, when she was 19.

It was Cerys’ birth at Queen’s Hospital which inspired Rhiannon to become a midwife!

She said: “I wanted to support Alisha as I was a young mum myself. The birth was a bit of a challenge, with lots of equipment in a small room.

“When tensions arose around Alisha’s mum coming into the labour room, I asked everyone to leave so I could speak to Alisha alone and find out what she wanted, as she was the one who came first. I’ve never had anything like it before but luckily it was all okay after that!”
