We’re supporting the national Breastfeeding Celebration Week from Monday (26 June).

We’re teaming up with our local health partners, including our local authority public health teams, to host a stall on Monday in the main entrance of Queen’s Hospital.

Supported by Public Health England, the theme of the national week is breastfeeding support.

Visitors to the stall will be able to get help and advice about breastfeeding, and there will also be competitions and the opportunity to find out more about what support there is in the community for infant feeding.

Jill Wood, from our infant feeding team, said: “We have teams across the hospital to support mums while they’re with us, including on our maternity ward and our neonatal intensive care unit.

“This will also be a great opportunity for women to find out about the support available in the community too, including infant feeding cafes at children centres.”

Havering women can meet other mums, as well as benefit from practical advice at infant feeding cafes which are held weekly at St Kilda, Romford, and Collier Row Children’s Centres.

Find out more on the Havering Council website.

As well as feeding cafes, mums in Barking and Dagenham can also get support the newly launched infant feeding support helpline on 0208 2273705.

Baby feeding cafes are also run in Redbridge, find out more online.
