Q1 - Parking
a. Is parking available for doctors?

Yes

b. How much does a permit cost, and where can it be purchased from?

Doctors like all staff members have the ability to apply for a car parking permit, this application includes a scoring criteria set during a 6 month staff consultation in 2017/2018.

Permit prices are £64 per calendar month, but we do offer discounts based on staff specific details:

  • Salary >£35K per year and employed full time (18 hours per week or over) = £64 per month
  • Salary >£35K per year and employed <18 hours per week = £32 per month
  • Salary <£35K per year and employed full time (18 hours per week or more) = £40 per month
  • Salary <£35K per year and employed <18 hours per week = £20 per month

The Trust Traffic Management Team also liaise with our Medical Education department reference provision of permits for Junior Doctors on secondment, as well as when we have new intakes of staff.

We also have a Junior Doctor, Consultant and Joint Staff Council (includes staff groups and union leads) representation on our Car Parking Steering Group to ensure all staff groups have direct representation on how we administer our Car Parking Services to staff.
