Young people volunteer programme

About the placement

The Young people’s Programme is a 6-month bespoke work placement programme for young One of our placements caled Don receiving his certificate people at risk of criminalisation, those who have recently left care, from seldom heard groups, sensory impairment and those with special educational needs and disabilities.

It entails one working day per week for the 6 months within a variety of departments and functions within the hospital environment and you are supported with employability skills from one of our specialist apprenticeship Education Coaches.

Successful participants are fast tracked on to our in-house employment bank.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Young people aged 18-21 living in the boroughs of Barking, Havering, or Redbridge.
  • Must be available to volunteer weekly, for one day, on the day you are offered.
  • Must not have any convictions, cautions or reprimands against vulnerable adults or children.

We encourage participants to plan and apply for work experience a minimum of 8 weeks ahead of desired dates. 

When completing the application form, provide as much detail as possible, as this will help us match your interests with placements.

For applicants under 18 years (under 25 in some circumstances), you must have permission from your responsible adult.
