West Ham United launched their brand new home kit yesterday (Thursday 15 July) and some of our staff were lucky enough to get an exclusive first look.

As part of the club’s ongoing pledge to support local NHS trusts, five lucky members of our workforce were involved in the official home kit launch.

Lindsey Wood, Tony Kaura, Kate Baker, Biruk Tessema and John Mealey, who between them have worked for the NHS for 68 years, were given a first glimpse at the new kit as an expression of thanks for their tireless and crucial work during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking about the shirt for the upcoming season, Tony Kaura, Head of Clinical Engineering, said: “It’s a lovely new kit and good to see it’s got a nice collar as well. The feel of it is very good and it’s got the right contrast of Claret and Blue.”

Tony Chambers, Chief Executive, was full of praise for the club and said: “Our staff continue to be incredible during the pandemic and this was a fantastic opportunity for some of them to relax and enjoy being part of the exciting kit launch.

“Thank you so much to West Ham United for such a fantastic opportunity. We have a very positive relationship with the club, which continues to grow. They are a huge part of our community and have supported us throughout the pandemic. We look forward to continue working together.”

In recent months, West Ham have supported our Thank You week, took part in a nutrition webinar for our staff and hosted football tournaments for men and women across our Trust.
