Red extreme heat warning

Very high temperatures are expected this week, so we’re asking everyone to take a little extra care if you’re visiting one of our hospitals.

Our teams are working hard to keep services running safely.

Please take a few simple steps to stay safe and comfortable:

Can’t make your appointment?

If you’re unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Find out more on how to manage your appointment.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep our patients, visitors and staff safe during the hot weather.

We've installed a bike docking station to promote sustainable travel

We have installed a new Brompton bike docking station at Queen’s Hospital to help support our staff with healthier and more sustainable ways of getting to and from work.

The fold-up bikes are part of a 12 month trial scheme which, if popular, could see a docking station installed at King George Hospital next year.

Chief Executive Matthew Trainer, pictured above with Jonny Darkes from Brompton Bicycles, said: “These new bikes are a fantastic way to travel and have benefits for the health of our staff as well as the environment.

“Sustainable travel options for staff, patients, and visitors are an important part of our Green Plan and will improve the air quality around our hospitals.”

As well as a possible extension of the scheme to King George Hospital, we are working with Brompton on installing an electric bike dock at Queen’s to provide an alternative option for staff who would like to cycle to work from further afield.
