We're moving up in national NHS oversight rankings
In the latest NHS National Oversight Framework (NOF) segmentation and league tables, we’ve moved up from segment 4 to segment 3 for quarter 1. We’ve also moved to 111th from 124th out of 134 acute trusts.
This is due to improvements in our performance which was impacted following the launch of our electronic patient record.
We can’t lose sight of the fact that there’s plenty left to do and we know the money will continue to be a challenge, however it's encouraging progress.
In terms of where we’ve been making that progress, we’ve seen a 10% improvement in the Cancer 28-day Faster Diagnosis Standard since April, and 8% in the 62-day standard. We continue to be consistent overall in achieving c.96% in the 31-day standard and should be back on track by the end of this month across the board.
In April this year, 52% of patients waiting for a diagnostic test were waiting longer than the national six-week target. By the end of August, we’d halved this number.
And the work we’ve done to address our waiting lists is having a positive impact, although we’ve seen an increase in patients waiting more than 52 weeks, so we’ll be focusing on this.
In urgent and emergency care, we’re on track to meet the 82% target by the end of the year for All Types. And our Type 1 performance (our sickest patients) is also going in the right direction.
This is very much testament to the hard work and commitment of staff and we hope to continue to improve care for our patients every day.
