We’re looking for a new Chair for our charity

We’re excited to be recruiting a new Chair for the King George and Queen’s Hospitals Charity, which fundraises to help improve the care and experience of our patients and staff.

To help attract the best trustees and maximise fundraising opportunities, it’s becoming an independent charity, rather than the current model where it is governed by our Trust as a corporate trustee. The role offers a great opportunity to help shape the future of the charity, which will continue to work in partnership with us.

Our Trust’s collaboration with Barts Health also means the new Chair will benefit from the support of their successful charity team, leading discussions with Barts Charity on potential partnership opportunities in the context of the overall collaboration between our trusts.

Jacqui Smith, Chair in common of both BHRUT and Barts Health, said: “This is a really exciting time for our charity and we’re looking for an exceptional leader to oversee the next steps.

“The new Chair will be able to build the future of the charity, leading the appointment of a board of trustees and working with them and our Trust to set a new strategy to maximise fundraising for the benefit of our patients and staff.”
