Resident doctor strike

From Wednesday 17 to Monday 22 December, resident doctors (formerly known as junior doctors) will be taking strike action. During this time, our services will be under increased pressure.

Getting the right care

Please help us make sure emergency care is available for those who need it most:

  • Only attend A&E in life-threatening emergencies.
  • For non-urgent issues, please contact your GP, your local pharmacy, or NHS 111 (online or by phone).

Appointments and planned care

  • If your appointment is affected, we will contact you directly.
  • If you do not hear from us, please attend your appointment as planned.

Take a look at our new quality boards

Staff with the quality board on Bluebell A ward

Staff with the quality board on Bluebell A ward We have rolled out new quality boards in our adult inpatient wards, to help display important information for patients and visitors.

The new boards combine information previously displayed on panels on each ward and include details such as the ward name, contact information, and the names of the ward manager, clerk, and matron.

They also feature leaflets for patients, details about ward accreditation, and how we are listening to patient feedback to improve our care.

Staff with the quality board on Fern ward Chief Nurse Kathryn Halford said: “I am so pleased we have been able to update this information. It is now very clear, and patients, families, and staff can keep updated on the wards’ performances.”

The updating of quality boards will continue throughout our hospitals, with changes coming soon to maternity and paediatric areas. After that, we will turn our attention to other clinical and patient areas, including satellite sites where we provide clinical services to patients.

We are also developing new welcome boards for our main entrances.
