Our teams are working hard to keep services running safely.

Please take a few simple steps to stay safe and comfortable:

We were delighted to be visited by pupils from Valance Primary School in Dagenham on International Nurses Day (Monday 12 May).

The year six pupils came with gifts for the nurses on Tropical Lagoon children’s ward at Queen’s Hospital.

They presented gifts including confectionery, drawings and thank you notes completed by pupils on the school council.

We have 2,611 qualified nurses at our Trust, who work across a variety of roles and departments within our hospitals.

On Monday we celebrated the day with a range of events and activities to say thank you for all the hard work that they do.

Teacher Ms Ballard said:

On International Nurses Day, it’s very important that children appreciate the hard work that nurses do and they come to say thank you in person.

Lilly Nolan, aged 11 from Dagenham, posed for a photo with ward matron Fiona and our hospital's play specialists.

Lilly said:

I think it was nice to meet the nurses. They like helping people get better.
