Our vaccination hub opened at Queen’s Hospital last week and was only made possible thanks to the hard work of several teams and countless colleagues across our Trust. We’re so proud of them for making it happen so quickly that we want to give as many of them the spotlight as we can.

From today (21 December) we have postponed all non-urgent outpatient appointments.

It’s been a busy second day in our vaccination hub at Queen’s Hospital, with lots more care home workers and vulnerable frontline healthcare staff receiving the vaccine.

Our Trust has welcomed back Margo McFarlane as one of our Covid-19 vaccinators, who despite being retired for ten years had no hesitation about come back to help.

Among schools raising money for our hospitals in this year’s Reindeer Run was Harrow Lodge Primary School in Hornchurch. 

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust has won an award for its work improving the recruitment experience of international nurses at   prestigious Nursing Times Workforce Awards on Wednesday 2 December.

Our new Chair Mike Bell begins working with us today following the departure of Joe Fielder at the end of his three-year term.

Louise Hulbert had just returned from three weeks in Spain enjoying the El Camino pilgrimage when she had a stroke. The retired PE teacher woke up on the floor in the middle of the night unable to move, it was only when friends came looking for her the next morning that she was taken to Queen’s Hospital.
