We’ve launched a new team, Hera Midwives, which is providing pregnant women in Harold Wood and Hornchurch with continuity of care.

To help protect pregnant women visiting our hospitals, as well as their families and our staff, we are encouraging them and their partners to take a lateral flow test 24 hours before attending their appointment.

Mark Chinery, our Trust’s Fire Safety Manager, is taking part in the Trek26 challenge to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

From Monday 7 June, the children’s Emergency Departments (ED) at both King George and Queen’s hospitals will be open 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week.

We are delighted that a multi-disciplinary team at our Trust has been selected to be part of a national programme designed to encourage and recognise quality improvement in axial spondyloarthritis (axial SpA) care.

Our staff networks are there for everyone to discuss how we can make our hospitals fairer places to work and receive care. They are also a safe and supportive space for staff. To ensure that conversations from network meetings help shape our hospitals, our network chairs are now part of our people and culture committee, which reports into our Trust board.

We’re delighted that Caroline Roberts (pictured left) and Sandy Malone (pictured right) have been appointed as associate non-executive directors and, as part of their role, will be wellbeing guardians for our Trust Board. They are also both part of our People and Culture Committee, which reports to our Board. As wellbeing guardians, they will ensure that wellbeing is at the heart of what we do, link in with our Wellbeing team to understand important issues, and challenge the Board to always consider the impact of decisions on the health and wellbeing of staff.
