Linda Ross, 70, retired from our Trust earlier this month after 48 years in nursing, including training at our former King George Hospital site, and over 30 years at our Trust.

The Coronary Care Unit and Ocean B have achieved silver in our ward accreditation programme, and Iris ward has become the first to reach the threshold to be assessed for gold, as part of our drive to improve patient care.

We’ve said farewell to John Hambidge, consultant orthopaedic surgeon, who left our Trust on Friday 14 April after 13 years to start a new adventure - travelling with his wife and visiting the places he's "always wanted to visit".

Our teams have been working hard to reduce the time our patients wait for treatment. Despite challenges including the strike by junior doctors leading to delayed appointments, we’ve hit the NHS England (NHSE) target to reduce the number of patients waiting over 18 months to zero.

We’ve retained our Charter for People with Lived Experience silver award, which recognises our commitment to providing career opportunities for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, particularly those who have been in care, and/or involved in crime.
