Twelve members of staff at our Trust have started the “expectation-shattering” experience of our innovative Shadow Exec, after a special lunch to mark the end of our first cohort and the beginning of the second.

We’ve opened a Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit in our Emergency Department (ED) at King George Hospital. In just the first few weeks of opening it has already seen our performance against the four-hour standard improve by almost 20 per cent for type one (patients with life threatening illnesses or injuries).

Hajj is the fifth and final pillar of Islam and takes place in the month of Dhul-Hijjah, which is the twelfth month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

On Saturday 24 June we held our first ‘Run with your Doctor’ event in Raphael Park, Romford, organised by Anjum Misbahuddin, a neurologist at our Trust.

We welcomed Julian Kelly, Chief Financial Officer at NHS England, to see how the expansion of our Elective Surgical Hub at King George Hospital is progressing on Friday 23 June – holding a topping out ceremony to celebrate the new building reaching its highest point.

On Father’s Day (Sunday 18 June), five-year-old Dominic Barker completed a three-mile sponsored walk in memory of his dad James Barker, who passed away in February this year aged just 39.
