Our young cancer patients got a boost following a visit by the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund – delivering backpacks full of goodies to support them during a stay in hospital.

Our ‘Gastronaught’ project was set up to reduce delays for those gastroenterology patients facing particularly long wait times due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It achieved that and more with our team reviewing almost three times as many patients as planned, slashing waiting times by five weeks, and finding a new way of working.

A grateful patient has donated a mountain bike and accessories to our Oncology and Haematology department to show his appreciation for the staff who have cared for him during his ongoing treatment for prostate cancer.

Jude Skipper, our Head of Cardio-Respiratory Diagnostics, has been presented with an honorary fellowship – in recognition of her years working with the British Society of Echocardiography helping further the profession, while supporting other young healthcare workers gain accreditation.

Following a whirlwind romance, having met in June this year, James Morgan and Alice O’Neill were keen to get married. This was especially important to them due to James’s ill health.

Our volunteer Charlie Richardson is back to his daredevil tricks – scaling the O2 before completing the skywalk at Tottenham Hotspur’s ground, finishing off by abseiling the 42metres down to the pitch.
