Our communities are an important part of our workforce with lots of our staff living within the boroughs we serve: Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. Which is why we’re inviting local people to join us at our #BHRUT CareersFest this week.

This week [20 June – 26 June] is Learning Disability Week. We spoke to some of our colleagues who have benefitted from a work placement scheme, run by our partner, Sodexo, with New City College.

We held our annual Nursing, Midwifery and AHP (allied health professionals) Conference earlier this month, which focused on celebrating our diversity, as well as our achievements.

We’ve retained our JAG (Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy) accreditation, with the assessors judging our Endoscopy service to be one of the top three in England.

We have rolled out new quality boards in our adult inpatient wards, to help display important information for patients and visitors.

Our King George Hospital Vaccination Hub has received amazing feedback from parents following our work with a children’s charity to enhance the experience of our young patients when they come in to be immunised.

Thanks to our dedicated teams’ innovative surgical super clinics and additional diagnostic sessions, the number of patients waiting for more than two years (104+ weeks) for treatment continues to fall rapidly – reducing from 218 to 26 since the start of May.

This is an open invitation to all staff, students and apprentices, and the wider community to join us for a remarkable celebration of our diverse workforce, their dynamic careers, and the plethora of opportunities available at our Trust.

After a bank holiday  weekend of celebrations across our hospitals to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a lasting reminder of this momentous occasion is now in place.

To help improve our hospitals, we have launched a Young Person's Forum to ensure younger people have their say on our services.
