A much-awaited new shop, stocked with all the essentials for staff and patients from sandwiches to shower gel, opened at King George Hospital on Thursday 11 January.

Victoria Macdonald, Health and Social Care Editor at Channel 4 News visited Queen’s Hospital on Wednesday 10 January, ahead of the publication of the monthly national NHS performance statistics.

We’ve opened a new Surgical Assessment Unit at Queen’s Hospital, which has already helped over 80 patients in just two weeks.

It was less than an hour into 2024 when the first New Year’s Day baby was born at Queen’s Hospital – well ahead of his 22 January due date.
