Wes Streeting, Health Secretary and MP for Ilford North, was inspired after hearing about an innovative programme for young adults on his visit to King George Hospital.

Staff held a surprise party at Queen’s Hospital on Friday 11 October to celebrate, ahead of their retirement on Thursday 31 October.

The Neonatal unit at Queen’s Hospital has been awarded UNICEF’s prestigious Baby Friendly accreditation.

Around 30 staff from a range of teams across our Trust, including Maternity, Finance and HR, have raised almost £10,000 for our charity by taking part in The Big Charity Mud Run.

Baby Loss Awareness Week runs from 9 to 15 October each year and is an opportunity for those affected by pregnancy and baby loss to share their stories and help raise awareness to ensure no one feels alone.

A huge well done to Bluebell B ward at Queen’s Hospital for their success in our ward accreditation programme.  Ward accreditation is part of our efforts to improve and standardise the quality of care given to patients at our hospitals.

September was our first ever focussed gynaecology month, entitled ‘Phoenix 2’, where we held 24 additional all day theatre sessions, operating every Saturday and Sunday in our Elective Surgical Hub at King George Hospital.
