Mark Stephens, our Trust security advisor, has been a key ally for our LGBT+ staff network since it started, and it’s clear why we need allies like him.

Following a national announcement yesterday (Tuesday 15 June) that the NHS will provide further investment for dealing with Long-Covid, including a number of hubs for children, our Long-Covid clinic lead, Adam Ainley, was called upon to comment on ITV News.

It’s Learning Disability Week (Monday 14 to Sunday 20 June), so we spoke to Tim Buck, our lead nurse for learning disabilities (LD) and autism, and interim named nurse for safeguarding adults.

Tim, who joined our team just after the first wave of the pandemic, spoke about how the role of his team is to reduce the health inequalities faced by people with LD. 

Three members of staff at our Trust have been given You Made a Difference awards for their contributions to providing excellent patient care at our hospitals.

We’ve appointed a Lead Medical Examiner for the first time. Peter Tanner, a consultant pathologist who has been at our Trust for more than 30 years, will work alongside our clinicians following the death of a patient, helping to improve the entire certification process, providing additional support to bereaved relatives and clinical teams.
