Our green zone showcased on BBC News

King George Hospital

We were delighted to invite Hugh Pym, Health Editor for BBC News, to King George Hospital on Tuesday 8 February to highlight the work we’re doing in the green zone to continue to reduce our waiting lists.

Hugh joined us on the day NHS England unveiled its delivery plan to tackle waiting lists across England.

In the plan, our BONES week was highlighted as a successful way we’ve improved our services compared to before the pandemic (page 35).

In his report, Hugh spoke to Violet, one of our patients, Chief Executive Matthew Trainer, and Divisional Director for Surgery Thangadorai Amalesh.

Amalesh spoke about how we’ve increased activity compared to before the pandemic, while Matthew highlighted the multidisciplinary teamwork involved in reducing the length of stay for patients so others can have their surgery sooner as well.

You can watch the report on our Twitter profile.

Find out more about the work we’ve been doing to provide faster care for our patients.
