Our charity is now independent!

The King George and Queen’s Hospitals Charity has entered an exciting new chapter by becoming independent from our Trust. (Our charity team is pictured top at their recent dinner and dance event.)
While it will continue to fund projects across our hospitals, over the past five years it has invested over £5million to enhance patient care and support our staff, it now has more autonomy to manage its own governance and has a new board of trustees.
Barbara Kasumu, the charity’s interim Chief Executive, said:
Becoming an independent charity means we can raise more funds and support transformative projects that improve the lives of thousands of patients, families and staff who use our hospitals every day.
We’re committed to making our hospitals the best they can be. From providing the latest innovative technology, to making them better equipped, more comfortable and welcoming to everyone who needs them.
By working closely with hospital teams, we’ll focus our efforts where they matter most, funding projects that make a real and lasting difference for the people in our community who need us.
To celebrate their independence our charity has a new look, including an updated logo and branding, which can be spotted around our hospitals (below), and new website, King George & Queen's Hospitals Charity .

Four runners, including Chief Executive Barbara, are currently raising thousands for the charity by taking part in the London Marathon this weekend (Sunday 26 April). Read more about them and why they want to give back to our charity, including the lifesaving care our teams provided to a premature baby, and a grandfather.
