Recruitment event - Nurse from India help to strengthen our workforce

Over the last two years, we’ve recruited over 533 international nurses from Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. The nurses are all provided with support from our award-winning Senior Intern team. The Senior Intern team are experienced nurses/midwives with a wealth of knowledge to support newly recruited nurses navigate the challenges of hospital life when they are new to the role.

Rintu from India said “I have always dreamt of working in London.  I can’t believe my dream has come true!”

We have an excellent grow your own apprenticeship programme and have high numbers of student nurses wanting to join our Trust. We do still need the support of international nurses at our Trust.  In our most recent nurse recruitment day we offered over 100 UK nurses jobs.

Beverley Sawer, our recruitment nurse said: “I was really impressed with the calibre of nurses from India. They all had a huge enthusiasm for nursing and will make great nurses here at our Trust. I am looking forward to the exchange of experiences between the nurses it will be interesting to see what they learn from one another.”

Our Chief Nurse Kathryn Halford OBE added: “Nurses make up the largest clinical workforce at our Trust and play a key role in providing person-centred care. I am pleased we secured enough funding from NHS England Improvement to strengthen our existing nursing staff workforce. This along with our recruitment of UK nurses will ensure we can offer our patients the best care possible.”
