Newly refreshed garden unveiled at King George Hospital

A newly refreshed garden at King George Hospital has been unveiled, providing a welcoming outdoor space for staff, patients and families to enjoy.
The garden has been transformed through a partnership between CBRE and King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity, with CBRE colleagues volunteering their time and expertise to improve and refresh the space.
The work included new and improved benches, refreshed plant pots, new paving and garden pebbles, as well as replenishing and trimming plants and giving the whole garden a thorough clean.
The completed garden was officially unveiled on 7 October, with speeches from BHRUT’s Interim CEO Fiona Wheeler, King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity’s Interim CEO Barbara Kasumu and CBRE Account Manager Richard Browne, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The garden is now open from 7am to 7pm, providing a place where staff, patients and families can get some fresh air, take a break and spend time together away from the busy hospital environment.
The project is a great example of what can be achieved through collaboration between the charity and corporate partners.
BHRUT Interim CEO Fiona Wheeler said:
We hope this garden will provide a welcoming space where staff, patients and families can get some fresh air, take a moment and spend time together. It also shows that we care about the experience of everyone who comes through our doors, and we’re grateful to everyone who has contributed to creating this space. I’m really looking forward to seeing the garden being used and shared by our staff, patients and families at King George Hospital.
Interim CEO of King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity, Barbara Kasumu, said:
Outdoor space is incredibly valuable, particularly in a busy London hospital where opportunities to step away from our desks and clinical environments can be limited. This project is a great example of what can be achieved when our charity brings together the needs of our hospitals with the support and expertise of our partners.
"We’re incredibly grateful to CBRE for giving their time and skills to transform this space into somewhere that can be enjoyed by all.
CBRE Account Manager Richard Browne said:
We were delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity to transform this garden at King George Hospital. Our team really enjoyed getting stuck in and seeing the space come to life.
"It’s been a rewarding project for everyone involved, and we’re proud to have played a part in creating a space that the King George Hospital community can enjoy.
