Kristina Talusan, Lead Nurse for Medicine Safety and Governance, has been awarded a Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Rising Star award.

The awards recognise and celebrate the contribution of the black, Asian and minority ethnic nurses working in London who are transforming patient care across the capital.

Kristina was nominated for her hard work on building collaborative relationships with colleagues so they feel supported, seen and heard, using her clinical experience with her passion for quality and safety to strengthen and empower others.

Her role is the first of its kind at our Trust which has improved the collaboration between pharmacy and clinical teams.

Kristina said:

I’m delighted to have received this award, which has given me the confidence to continue improving patient safety. I couldn’t have achieved this without the support from colleagues and mentors which I’m grateful for.

Kristina’s line manager, Murray Wyke-Joseph added:

Kristina has made a phenomenal impact since joining the Pharmacy team. It’s great to see her commitment to making improvements to patient safety and reducing harms from medication being recognised.
