We're delighted that Iris ward at King George Hospital (pictured) have achieved silver in our ward accreditation programme.

Patients on Iris ward had glowing feedback; they said they were well cared for, well informed and updated with their plan, and the ward felt warm and welcoming. Importantly, staff had positive feedback too, and commented that they enjoyed coming to work.

Kathryn Halford, Chief Nurse, said: “To help our hospitals meet the challenge of Covid, Iris ward expanded from caring for Urology patients to caring for patients with other conditions too. The team has learnt new skills, and patient care and safety are excellent.”

Ward accreditation helps us to keep improving. It sets out clear standards and measurements to help teams identify where they are already delivering fantastic patient care, and areas they can improve.

Iris ward are now working towards achieving gold accreditation; they are almost there already - well done to the team!
