Double win for our Healthcare Assistants

We’re proud that two of our Healthcare Assistants have been recognised at this year’s Capital Clinical Support Worker Awards 2025, celebrating the invaluable contribution of clinical support workers across London’s NHS.
Our winners were Healthcare Assistants Christine Murphy and Alvin Condeno.
Christine received the Long Service Award, honouring her 35 years devoted service at our Trust. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and reliability, making a lasting positive impact on colleagues, patients, and families.
Christine said:
"Being honoured with the Long Service Award after 35 years in this role means more than words can express. Every day I’ve spent caring for patients and supporting their families has been a privilege. This award reflects decades of compassion, teamwork, and dedication — and I’m grateful for every moment. I’m proud of the journey, and even prouder to continue making a difference.”
Alvin was presented with the Chief Nursing Officer Award. This is awarded to individuals who show excellence in clinical support, leadership and practice. It recognises their exceptional skill, dedication to delivering safe and person-centred care, and their contribution to improving standards across the organisation and the wider health care community.
Alvin said:
“Receiving the Chief Nursing Officer Award is an honour I will carry with pride. As a Healthcare Assistant, I simply aim to give kindness, dignity, and comfort to every person I care for. To be recognised for that is truly humbling. This award reflects not just my work, but the support of an incredible team who inspire me every day.”
Chief Nurse Nichola Kane said:
“I am immensely proud of Christine and Alvin for achieving both the Long Service Award and the Chief Nursing Officer Award. These honours highlight not only their exceptional dedication, but also the immense value our healthcare assistants bring to patient care every day.”
The prestigious event, held on 18 November Kensington Town Hall, London, honoured the outstanding dedication, compassion and professionalism of healthcare support staff working across the capital.
The Capital Clinical Support Worker Awards are organised by the CapitalNurse programme, which brings together NHS trusts and partners across London to celebrate excellence in care and recognise the vital role of support staff in delivering safe, high-quality services.
