Laura was nominated by Daniel Devitt, the interim Children’s Commissioner for Redbridge CCG. Daniel nominated Laura for making a string of beads of courage for a patient who had sadly lost their original set.

Rachael, who has just moved into a new role as a discharge coordinator, was nominated for her work as a healthcare assistant on our Sunflower Suite. Sara wanted Rachael to be recognised for the compassion she shows for her patients and their loved ones.

After finding out how upset a family member was because her mother was an inpatient in the department on her birthday, and they had originally planned to celebrate at a spa day, Nicola decided to bring the spa to them, arranging a makeshift nail bar and pamper session.

The Perfect Week is a national initiative which aims to improve patient flow and focused on getting patients home as soon as they were able to. Karen and Paul were nominated by Ron Wright, Chair of our Patient Partnership Council, who was impressed by “the commitment that they exhibited, leading the project with such passion that others were naturally swept along with them.”
