Mr Jain has received following awards:-
The Honorable mention award: for his study entitled, "Systematic Review of the Role of Serum PTH and Calcium Levels in Predicting Hypocalcaemia in Post-Thyroidectomy Patients to Facilitate Early Discharge". The American head and neck society conference, 21 – 25th July, 2012, Toronto, Canada.
The Poster of merit award: for his poster entitled, "Level six neck dissection for thyroid cancer – is its morbidity justified?” The American head and neck society conference, Arizona, USA, 30th – 31st May 2009.
Mr Jain has a keen interest in teaching and have been a teaching faculty for several courses including The St Thomas FRCS (ORL-HNS) viva course, The ST3 interview course.
Managerially, he has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in NHS Healthcare Leadership (Open University) and also has completed Leadership and Management course.
Special interests and treatments
Mr Anurag Jain has received a very broad based training with medical graduation (MBBS) and post graduation (Masters in Surgery – Otolaryngology) in Delhi, India from a premier institution and a major referral centre in North of India. He moved to UK for further training in Otolaryngology, and have completed higher surgical training in Otolaryngology and is on the Specialist register for Otolaryngology. His clinical training includes a very well rounded training in all aspects and surgery of Otolaryngology and especially in Head and Neck and Thyroid surgery (worked as Senior registrar - Head and Neck cancer centre, UCL hospital, London) and in Paediatric Otolaryngology (completed Paediatric ENT Fellowship, Evelina Children’s hospital, St Thomas hospital, London for a year). Clinically his skill set includes all type of ENT surgery and he is trained to performed a new and less invasive technique of performing Tonsillotomy (Intracapsular coblation technique) which has quicker recovery rate ( 5-7 days Versus upto 14 days) with minimal post operative bleeding (< 0.5% Versus upto 4%) in conventional techniques of performing Tonsillectomy.
