2022 Events: Walk, Jog, Run or Cycle

While we are not planning any events at present, here are some examples of 2022 events that you could take part in and raise funds for us at the same time.

London Winter Walk: 29/30 January 2022

Winter walk logo A great event to walk off the Christmas celebrations and to kick start your New Year fitness regime! There are Full Marathon and Half Marathon options, both starting and finishing at The Oval Cricket Ground on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 January, and take in highlights of the Thames, its historic bridges, and many of the Capital’s key landmarks.

Families are welcome, there’s a free winter bobble hat and neck buff, rest stops with snacks, with a special medal and hot food at the finish.

The walk

  • Full Marathon: 42km figure of eight starting and finishing at the Oval Cricket Ground
  • Half Marathon: 21km loop past Tower Bridge to Southwark Park

Both start and finish at The Oval Cricket Ground near Vauxhall. Both are available on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 January. This event is strictly walking only– so no jogging or running allowed.

Easter 50 Challenge: 9 April 2022

Easter 50 challenge logo Walk, Jog, or Run a 50km Ultra or take on the 25km half challenge-and make next Easter weekend one to remember.

From the Windsor Racecourse base camp 1,500 adventurers will head out on looped routes through the Great Parkwith fantastic views of the Castle, on to Runnymede, along the Thames Path, and takes in some wonderful countryside. You’ll get full support all the way, a few post Easter surprises, a celebration finish at base camp, and a BBQ meal. It’s a great way to kick off the 2022 Ultra Challenge season, and to get in shape for summer.

Isle of Wight Challenge: Walk, Jog, or Run it 30 Apr-1 May

Ilse of Wight challenge logo Great challenges need great settings-and none are better than the Island's coastal path. 2,000 adventurers of all experience levels will walk, jog or run the Isle of Wight Challenge in 2022-and go all out to push themselves further.

It's along the spectacular southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles and up to historic Cowes at the half way stop. For Full Island challengers it's on to historic Ventnor and back to our welcome Base Camp in Chale after an epic 106km journey.

You'll get full support and hospitality all the way, and with half and quarter Island options also-there's an Isle of Wight Challenge for everyone!

Jurassic Coast Challenge: Walk, Jog, or Run it 14–15 May 2022

Jurassic Coast Challenge logo Join 2,000 adventurers of all experience levels and ages and Walk, Jog or Run the spectacular Jurassic Coast-a World Heritage Site. Starting from Corfe Castle, the route heads to Swanage, then along to Lulworth Cove, past Durdle Door, with ups and downs all the way to the Weymouth halfway point.

For 100km challengers, it's past Portland Bill, nature reserves, along the western end of Chesil Beach to West Bay's famous cliffs (of TV's Broadchurch fame) before a finish line celebration in vibrant Bridport. With Half and Quarter distance options also, withfull support and great hospitality all the way-there's a challenge here for everyone.

London to Brighton Challenge: Walk, Jog, or Run it 14–15 May 2022

London to Brighton challenge logo 2,000 adventurers of all experience levels and ages will take on a classic capital to coast route, testing their grit over the Bank Holiday weekend. Most will Walk, but many will Jog or Run the full 100km, and with half and quarter distance options there's a challenge for everyone.

A Richmond start by the Thames, then the North Downs and wonderful Surrey and Sussex countryside to halfway at Turners Hill. The 100km route heads up and over the South Downs before the welcome sight of the Brighton coastline comes in to view.

Lake District challenge logo Back again for 2022-walk, Jog, or Run the Lake District Challenge and take on England's finest countryside at your pace. Test yourself on a fantastic Ultra Challenge-suitable for all experience levels-and you'll get the best support and hospitality all the way.

Our Challenge Base Camp is in Kendal. From there it's a 100km anticlockwise loop taking in a couple of tough hills, Ambleside, a half way point by Lake Windermere, forests, and nature reserves-with some stunning views en route-before a huge welcome and celebration back at Base Camp after a momentous journey. Push yourself further-100km Full Challenge, with Half and Quarter options also available.

Cotswold Way Challenge The magical Cotswold Way provides a stunning setting for a testing challenge-with some fantastic views en route and tough hills in between! Our base-camp in Cirencester is the hub for a 100 km looped route through the heart of the Cotswolds, which provides a stunning setting for 2,000 adventurers to test themselves.

There are rolling hills, villages, the magical Cotswold Way, footpaths and trails, with some fabulous views en route–and a few tough hills in between! Race to the Tower: 25-26 June 2022

Conquer the Cotswolds and take on Race to the Tower in June 2022.

From quaint idyllic villages to medieval burial grounds, the Cotswold Way will take you all the way to the foot of the magnificent Broadway Tower.

The highlights are endless, rich with 13th Century ruins and modern day film locations. The yellow, Jurassic Cotswold stone will pave the way, as you pass castles and the famous Cooper’s Hill en route.

This is a challenge for all, inclusive of all ages, experience and fitness levels. Ride Across Britain: 10-18 September 2022

An epic two-day cycling weekend.

Born as the UK’s greatest two-day cycling weekend, Dulux London Revolution offers a choice to cycle the iconic 156.9-mile, 360 degree loop of the capital over a weekend, or all in one go.

You’ll pedal through the heart of the City, passing all the sights before taking on the stunning North Downs, Thames Valley and the Chilterns.

Halloween Walk: 29-30 October 2022

Halloween Walk logo Back for 2022 – why not treat yourself to a hair-raising hike around some of London’s scary streets and historic haunts?

Choose your distance, gather your bravest guys and ghouls to make up a team–or go it alone if you dare and meet up with other chilling challengers. Dress to distress and our creepy dungeon keepers at The Oval start and finish will meet, greet and shock. Once you escape there are ghostly looped routes, with zombie rest stops, and if you manage to get back in one piece there’s a macabre medal, a glass of the Devil’s fizz, some horrific hot food and drink–and a souvenir bobble hat to ward off the spirits as you head off.

This event is strictly walking only – so no jogging or running is allowed.

Charity Sponsorship

You pay a small registration fee, do lots of fundraising and we cover the cost of your event place.

  • Half marathon: Reg fee £7.50/ fundraising target £155
  • Full marathon: Reg fee £10 / fundraising target £225

Mixed Funding

Pay half of the event place cost yourself, fundraise a bit less and we pay the balance of the event place cost.

  • Half marathon: Reg fee £29.50/ fundraising target £100
  • Full marathon: Reg fee£39.50 / fundraising target £120

Self-Fund

You pay the full cost of the event place-fundraise whatever you want, with no set target or deadline, and there’s no cost at all to the charity.

  • Half marathon: £59 (£44 12-17-year-old price)
  • Full marathon: £79 (£59 12-17-year-old price)
