2022 Events: Walk, Jog, Run or Cycle

While we are not planning any events at present, here are some examples of 2022 events that you could take part in and raise funds for us at the same time.

London Winter Walk: 28/29 January 2023

Winter walk logo A great event to walk off the Christmas celebrations and to kick start your New Year fitness regime! There are Full Marathon and Half Marathon options, both starting and finishing at The Oval Cricket Ground on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 January, and take in highlights of the Thames, its historic bridges, and many of the Capital’s key landmarks.

Families are welcome, there’s a free winter bobble hat and neck buff, rest stops with snacks, with a special medal and hot food at the finish.

The walk

  • Full Marathon: 26 miles (42km) figure of eight starting and finishing at the Oval Cricket Ground
  • Half Marathon: 13 miles (21km) loop past Tower Bridge to Southwark Park

Both start and finish at The Oval Cricket Ground near Vauxhall. Both are available on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 January. This event is strictly walking only– so no jogging or running allowed.

Easter 50 Challenge: 1 April 2023

Easter 50 challenge logo Take on a 50 km Ultra or a historic 25km – and make it an active Easter! From our Windsor Racecourse base camp 1500 adventurers will head out on looped routes through the Great Park with fantastic views of the Castle, on to Runnymede, along the Thames Path, and takes in some wonderful countryside. You’ll get full support all the way, a few post Easter surprises, a celebration finish at base camp, and a hot meal. It’s a great way to kick off the 2023 Ultra Challenge season, and to get in shape for summer.

Isle of Wight Challenge: Walk, Jog, or Run it 29-30 April 2023

Great challenges need great settings – and few are better than the Island’s stunning coastal path. Up to 2,000 adventurers will take on the Isle of Wight in April 2023 – with all out to push themselves further. It’s along the spectacular southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles, and up to historic Cowes at the half way stop. For Full Island challengers it’s on to historic Ventnor, and back to our welcome base camp in Chale after an epic 106km journey. 

You'll get full support and hospitality all the way, and with half and quarter Island options also-there's an Isle of Wight Challenge for everyone!

Jurassic Coast Challenge: Walk, Jog, or Run it 13–14 May 2023

Jurassic Coast Challenge logoSpectacular World Heritage coastline, with a start in Corfe Castle, the route heads down to Swanage, and along through Lulworth Cove, past Durdle Door, with ups & downs to Weymouth at half way. For 100 km challengers, it’s past Portland Bill, Chesil Beach, and on to West Bay’s cliffs (of TV’s Broadchurch) – before a finish line celebration in the vibrant Dorset town of Bridport. Great Half & Quarter Challenge options also – PLUS a revised Marathon & a NEW Double Marathon option for 2023!

London to Brighton Challenge: Walk, Jog, or Run it 27–28 May 2023

London to Brighton challenge logo Now in its 11th year over 2,000 adventurers will take on the Capital to Coast route and test their grit over the whole weekend. Richmond-Upon-Thames is the start, and it’s over the North Downs with wonderful Surrey & Sussex countryside to half way at Turners Hill. The full 100 km route heads over the South Downs before the welcome sight of the Brighton coastline comes in to view. You’ll get full support & hospitality all the way – and with half, and quarter distance options also available – there’s a classic challenge here for everyone!

Lake District challenge logo Take on England’s finest countryside at your pace. Our Challenge base-camp is in Kendal, and from there it’s a 100km anticlockwise loop taking in a couple of tough hills, Garburn Pass, Ambleside, a half way point by Lake Windermere, forests, and nature reserves – with some stunning views en route – before a huge welcome and celebration back at Base Camp after a momentous journey. You’ll get full support & hospitality, optional camping / hostel, and with half & quarter distance options – there’s a Lake District Challenge for everyone!

Race to the King 17 – 18 June 2023

Try an Ultra steeped in history and starting and finishing at the iconic Goodwood Racecourse. Explore two equal but very different loops in the South of England with a variety of terrain and stunning landscapes that will challenge and inspire in equal measure!

Race to the Stones 8-9 July 2023

An Eastbourne start, up Beachy Head, the magnificent Seven Sisters, and along the South Downs Way, with stunning views over the sea, to a Brighton half-way. Devil’s Dyke, and a few ups & downs lie ahead before historic Arundel comes into view after an amazing 100 km journey. Thames Bridges Trek: 9 September 2023

Join 2000 walkers and trek across the Capital taking in unrivalled views of the skyline, and historic landmarks. Setting out from the Putney Bridge start we head East towards the City, zig-zagging over 16 historic bridges – each with its own fascinating story – and a mid point rest stop near The Oval Cricket Ground for some snacks & drinks. 25km later, it’s a party style finish line celebration in Southwark Park past the final crossing – the majestic Tower Bridge.

Thames Path Challenge 2022: Walk, Jog, or Run it 9-10 Sept 2023

Thames Path Challenge logo England’s greatest river provides a fantastic backdrop for an unforgettable challenge. Over 3000 adventurers will join the Putney Bridge start, and the full 100km route heads upstream to Henley along the famous Towpath. It’s through Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede, and Windsor, with some wonderful scenery to a riverside finish line. With 50km & 25km distance options also available – plus the separate 25km ‘Thames Bridges Trek’ & ‘The Moonlight 10 Walk’ through Central London as part of the weekend ‘festival’ – there’s a Thames Challenge for everyone!

Chiltern 50 Challenge logo End of season 50 km looped route in some of the Chilterns finest countryside, with historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves, and fantastic views. At our basecamp in Henley, there’s a Saturday night celebration BBQ, bar & entertainment, with extensive on-site camping & parking options. A route with real variety and some wonderful scenery – and easily accessible from London. You’ll get full support & hospitality, and with a 23 or 27 km option 25km loop and a 10K also available, there’s a Chiltern Challenge for everyone!

Halloween Walk: 28 October 2023

Why not treat yourself to a hair-raising hike around some of the City’s scary streets and historic haunts? Choose your distance, gather your bravest guys & ghouls to make up a team – or go it alone if you dare and meet up with other chilling challengers. Dress to distress, and our creepy dungeon keepers at The Oval start & finish will meet, greet & shock. Once you escape there’s ghostly looped routes, with zombie rest stops, and if you manage to get back in one piece there’s a macabre medal, a glass of the Devil’s fizz, some horrific hot food & drink – and a souvenir bobble hat to ward off the spirits as you head off.
