Volunteers' week, 1-12 June

Group picture of volunteers

Group picture of volunteersWe are looking for local people from all sections of our community who are passionate about the services we provide, who will be an advocate for us and our patients. Volunteering is a great way to meet people, obtain or update skills and help your community. In return for you giving us your time, we will provide you with support; we will make you feel welcome and part of a team.  If you are planning to study medicine or get into the medical field, volunteering offers a unique and first-hand experience on what it is like to work in a hospital.

In order to find out more, we’re hosting a range of events where you can chat to our staff and volunteers, so pop along and see if volunteering is for you.

Monday 6 June – Queen’s Hospital, main entrance (atrium) of the hospital
11am – Paulette and Veejay – Dementia
11.30am Charity
12noon Department of Spiritual and Pastoral Care
12.30pm Macmillan
1pm Pets as Therapy

Wednesday 8 June
In conjunction with Work Redbridge, we will be at the Volunteer Centre Redbridge between 10am and 12noon to meet potential volunteers and showcase the opportunities that we have for our community wanting to get involved.

Keep an eye on our website for other events as they unfold and if you have any questions about volunteering, you can email us at volunteering@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk
