Our Chair, Dr Maureen Dalziel, has unveiled her ‘Top Ten Tips’ for improvement, alongside the publication of a report praising our journey out of special measures.

The Only Way is up, a report by the Anglia Ruskin Health Partners (ARHP), was launched by Dr Dalziel at a special reception event for our staff on Monday (10 July). It charts our time in special measures and also takes a more in-depth look at some of the areas we transformed including Maternity services and our operating theatres.

Our Trust came out of measures in March this year following a significant improvement journey, thanks to the hard work of all our staff and Monday’s event was held as a celebration of this.

Dr Dalziel’s ‘Top Ten Tips’ highlight our key learning to help other trusts in a similar position and include have a stable board to lead the Trust, engage staff in the improvement journey and keep everyone informed of your progress; staff, patients, partners and the community.

She said: “I’m delighted that we have been praised in two recent reports, the CQC Driving Improvement report, through which we were also praised by the Health Secretary, and the Only Way is up, commissioned by ARHP.

“While it’s important to reflect upon the past, it’s more important to look to the future where we are poised to deliver some very exciting innovations in cancer services and care of the elderly. I’m looking forward to talking more about this in the days ahead.”
