Staff and patients encouraged to quit the habit

Stop smoking team at Queen's Hospital

stop smoking services

Smokers visiting Queen’s and King George hospitals were encouraged to quit the habit to mark the national No Smoking Day (Wednesday 9 March).

Barking and Dagenham’s stop smoking service brought its roadshow to Queen’s Hospital on 10 March and King George Hospital on 11 March. The service works with our Trust supporting visitors, staff and patients at both our hospitals to quit smoking.

The roadshow offered a chance for smokers to sign up and pledge to quit smoking, a free lung test, stops kits as well as advice and information on how to give up smoking.

Our Health and Wellbeing team also held a stall for No Smoking Day at both hospitals, offering help and support for staff wanting to stop smoking.

Our hospital sites became smoke free in 2014, and since then we have been doing all we can to encourage and support patients, staff and visitors to give up.
