How to prepare and take Movi Prep
If you are having a colonoscopy, you will need to take a solution called Moviprep to completely clear your bowel before the procedure.
Moviprep is a flavoured powder that makes a solution when mixed with water to cleanse your colon. It has a laxative action, clearing the bowel so that it is clean and empty.
It is very important that you have a cleansed bowel for your colonoscopy so that any abnormalities in your bowel can be seen by the nurse or doctor performing the procedure.
Instruction leaflets for Moviprep will be sent with your appointment letter and can also be found below. Please contact the endoscopy pre-assessment nurse or the admissions team if you have any questions about taking your bowel preparation.
We also offer alternative bowel medication if Moviprep is deemed not appropriate, these include Picolax (please see leaflet below and Klean Prep (instructions are found inside the box).
