Speech and Language Therapies

Speech and Language therapists form part of the Integrated Therapy team at BHRUT. We see inpatients across Queen's and King George Hospital of all ages for swallowing and communication problems. The team covers all specialities including stroke, neurosciences, neonatal care/ paediatrics, critical care, oncology, care of the elderly and cardio-respiratory. We work closely with all members of the hospital team including other therapists, nurses and doctors.

What types of treatment are avaliable in our service?

Speech and Language Therapists (SLT) assess and treat speech, language and communication problems in people of all ages to help them communicate better. We also assess, treat and develop personalised plans to support people who have eating and swallowing problems.

Speech and Language Therapists are available on the wards Monday - Friday 08.30-16.30
