Chief Executive Appointed for Hospitals Trust

25th February 2008
John Goulston has been appointed as the Chief Executive of Barking, Havering
and Redbridge Hospitals NHS Trust.
John has been standing in as Interim Chief Executive since October, but has now
been given the position on a permanent basis.
Chairman of the Trust, Eric Nath, said: “I am delighted that John will
be staying with the organisation. Since he has been here it has been clear that
he will provide strong and successful leadership through the challenging years
ahead.”
John joined the Trust – which operates Queen’s Hospital in Romford
and King George Hospital in Ilford – from Barts and the London NHS Trust.
He has a strong financial background and has been working closely with the Trust’s
Turnaround team to tackle the current deficit.
John said: “In the four months I have been at the Trust I have been impressed
by the dedication and hard work of staff at all levels during a time of great
change. There is much to be done, and many challenges ahead, and I am looking
forward to working with them to improve patient care at our large and vibrant
hospitals.”
